Norwegian machinery dealer, Arvid Gimre AS, has recently taken delivery of a MAC Tri Axle Step Frame Low Loader – the first of four step frame trailers to be ordered from the company.

Arvid Gimre is an importer of UK machinery to the Norwegian market. The company has recently expanded its business activities with the establishment of a transportation department. The trailers supplied by MAC Trailers will be primarily used to transport machinery between the UK and Norway.

The trailers are customised to meet individual requirements and the specification includes SAF axles, pull-out aluminium ramps stored below the trailer, LED lights, ADR electrical system, machine stoppers to maximise the stability of machines during transportation, a container leveller and two large galvanised toolboxes for the storage of snow chains.

These bespoke trailers have been designed for multi-purpose use and come complete with Laxo sockets so that operators can benefit from having compatibility with twist locks, posts and D-rings. The trailers have also been designed with corners on the trailer neck to increase the turning circle of the trailer and are primed with anti corrosion wax oil to handle the harsh Scandinavian weather conditions and the salt that is used on Scandinavian roads.

MAC's in-house design department worked closely with Arvid Gimre to incorporate a railway mechanism into the trailers design. The concept – which has never previously been used on step frames – is widely used with refrigerated trailers on the Scandinavian market for the movement of trailers via railway. The railway mechanism will allow the trailers to be lifted by crane and hoisted onto a railway thus reducing traffic on the road and damage to the countries infrastructure.

MAC Trailers are happy to customise trailers to meet operator's requirements; be it by designing a new trailer or adding additional features. For more information or to discuss your trailer requirements, please contact head office on: +44 (0) 28 7965 9191
